Christian Education
Presbyterians view Christian Education as a life-long venture. Just as Jesus grew “in wisdom and in years” we are called to grow all through our lives. Whether
baptized as infants or adults, we are nurtured in the faith. This is one of the primary functions of the church – to be a place of Christian growth. With this in mind First Presbyterian offers a wide range of opportunities for Christian Education.
Sunday School
9:30 each Sunday morning
Sabbath Street
Our Sabbath Street Program uses a Rotation Model for children’s education. Various workshops (in the arts & crafts room, the computer lab, the Master Peace Theater, and even the church kitchen) help the children learn through participation in the Biblical stories.
Adult Education
Sunday morning offers two classes for Adults. The Poage Class
uses the printed curricula of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)
while the Pastor’s Class provides a variety of studies through the year.
Living the Questions
A video-based lecture study is offered at least once
a year on Tuesday nights. Other college-level Bible studies are also offered.
Mid Week Manna Class
Each Wednesday after dinner at Manna we offer a one-hour class for adults."Jesus and the Gospels" will meet from 6:15-7:45.
