WHAT ABOUT THOSE NEW-FOUND GNOSTIC GOSPELS?
CAN WE FIND THE HISTORICAL JESUS
?

For most of the past 2,000 years, our impressions of Jesus have been shaped by the Gospels, but what accounts for the great diversity in the images of Jesus and his resurrection that emerge from them? Is it possible to shape a single picture from these various accounts of his life? This is a far-ranging course designed to show us Jesus through the many portraits the Gospels provide.

Dr. Luke Timothy Johnson, Woodruff Professor of New Testament and Christian Origins at Emory University, offers a series of 30 minute lectures on DVD, which will be supplemented by additional materials and discussion questions by our teacher: Dr. Richard Smith of First Presbyterian Church.
